The Saqura Medieval Market also hosts a Jousting Tournament.
16 specialists and six Spanish thoroughbreds will star in a risky show of equestrian action and fireworks, inspired by the jousting prohibited by the Catholic Church in the 15th century.
More than 150 costume pieces and dozens of period weapons are used.
Three tests of equestrian skill started the tournament: javelin throwing, hitting the pin (rotating doll) and ring hooking.
This is followed by the expected jousting duels on horseback with a long wooden spear and shield or shield.
The fight continues on foot with sword, greatsword, double-edged axe, mace and flail. Only one contender remains standing.

The Medieval Market is one of the most massive cultural offerings held in Segura de la Sierra. During the fourth weekend of September, the streets and squares of the Medieval Quarter are transformed to recreate a time when our city, a crossroads between the north and the south, was an important political and commercial square.
Trades such as blacksmithing, carpentry, goldsmithing, glassmaking,... return to our Historic Center so that we can enjoy the know-how of the artisans of that time.
Jugglers, minstrels, mountebanks and other shows give life to a market where, as in the past, Christian, Arab and Jewish cultures coexist.
